Table of Figures

The Table of Figures component automatically generates a list of figures with page references, working with Figure Caption components to track figures throughout the report.

Configuration

Configure the component with these options:

Option Description
Channel Filter figure types: General (all), Tables, Charts, or Images
Tab Leader Customize the connector between figure name and page number
Leader Color Set color of the tab leader line
Column Count Split the table into multiple columns
Column Gap Define spacing between columns
Fill Behavior Control how content fills multiple columns
Sample Count Number of sample figures shown in preview mode

How it Works

The Table of Figures automatically detects Figure Caption components throughout the report and displays them with their corresponding page numbers. The Figure Caption component includes:

  • Name: Figure identifier (e.g., "Figure 1")
  • Title: Descriptive title (e.g., "Sales Chart")

Both components must use the same channel to appear together in the table.

Use Cases

  • Report navigation - provide quick reference to all figures with page numbers
  • Document organization - create structured lists of tables, charts, or images
  • Professional reports - add formal figure indexing for academic or business documentation
  • Multi-section reports - help readers locate specific visual elements across long documents

Tips

  • Ensure pages containing figures are marked as countable for proper page numbering
  • Use consistent channel settings between Table of Figures and Figure Caption components
  • Configure different channels (Tables, Charts, Images) to create separate figure lists
  • Place Table of Figures early in the report for easy reference navigation
