Figure Caption¶
The Figure Caption component marks figures for automatic indexing and provides descriptive labels that integrate with the Table of Figures component.
Configuration¶
Configure the component with these options:

Customize appearance for different caption elements using separate styling tabs (Common, Name, Title) with text alignment, font properties, colors, margins, and layout options.
Use Cases¶
- Figure indexing - mark charts, tables, and images for automatic inclusion in Table of Figures
- Professional documentation - provide formal figure numbering and titles for reports
- Cross-references - create consistent figure identification throughout documents
- Categorized listings - organize different figure types using channel-based filtering
Tips¶
- Use the same Channel setting as your Table of Figures component for proper integration
- Apply text templates in Name field for automatic figure numbering (e.g., "{$figure.number}")
- Place Figure Caption components near their associated visual elements
- Ensure pages containing Figure Caption components are marked as countable for page numbering in Table of Figures
- Use different channels (Tables, Charts, Images) to create separate figure categories
